Second Harvest Food Bank
"Second Harvest Food Bank is hosting a mobile food distribution at Renaissance Shops on Phillips Avenue on Saturday, May 30 starting at 9:30 am. Due to the pandemic, this will be a drive-through event with visitors remaining in their vehicles. Volunteers will wear masks and other PPE as needed.
The second Harvest anticipates dispensing 100,000 lbs. of food at the event which should provide food to upwards of 400 households. SHFB will be distributing meats, dairy products, produce, dry goods, etc.
Out of the Garden Project
Due to the COVID 19 virus and the need to move all of the food distribution markets to drive-through settings and keep as much space between people as possible, Out of the Garden Project will be moving the current drop at Mustard Seed Community Health, located on the campus of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church to Mt. Zion Baptist Church located at Willow and Alamance Church Road.
Please be advised the food distribution will continue on the 3rd Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Mt. Zion OR the 4th Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Dudley High School. There will NOT be a distribution at Mustard Seed. Please also be advised that the market is intended for families with school-age children. Adults without children in the household should contact the Salvation Army or Greensboro Urban Ministry.
If you have questions, please contact Out of the Garden Project.
